It’s was “bottoms up” for Schöller at the presentation ceremony during the British Frozen Food Federation’s Gala Dinner Dance in the London Hilton on June 11, as it was announced that the winner of the Best New Bakery/Pastries Product for 2009 is “Mövenpick” Cognac VSOP Ice Cream from Schöller Ice Cream Ltd.
A team of jurists from the Craft Guild of Chefs independently judged, assesed, marked and provided comments on all the catering entries. This year the standards set were extremely high, and when all the scores were totted up Mövenpick emerged as the clear winner. Mövenpick ice cream owes its inspiration to a vision of culinary excellence that swept through Swiss restaurants in the 1960’s.
The inspired chefs of these restaurants worked to make that vision a reality – and one of the gastronomic delights they made was ice cream. The product is a smooth ice cream infused with the fruity and floral notes of the fine VSOP Cognac that go well with the Cognac marinated Granny Smith apple pieces.
Judges were in unanimous agreement on the virtues of the product, with one saying, “Very good product. Ideal at Christmas. Rich flavor comes through.” |
