| Lamb Weston/Meijer, RWA. to Share Austrian Processor |
Lamb Weston-Meijer (LW/M), Kruningen, the Netherlands, has
acquired a 74% interest in Frisch & Frost Nahrungsmittel GmbH
(F&F), Hollabrunn, Austria, from Vienna-based Raiffeisen Ware
Austria (RWA).
F&F, which operates a potato products plant and two dough
producing facilities in Austria with net sales of approximately
70 million euros a year and employs 280 people, will be operated
as a joint venture by LW/M and RWA.
"The agreement, which expands LW/Ms production network, allows
us to bring even greater value to our frozen potato customers in
Central & South-eastern Europe," said Bas Alblas, managing
director of LW/M. "The Joint Venture means a real
win-win-constellation to F&F, its regional agricultural partners
and LW/M," agreed Klaus Buchleitner, CEO of the RWA Group.
